Romney: a conservative republican

                                          Romney: a conservative democrat

Mitt Romney is no stranger to politics or political causes. With a track record dating back over fifty years when his father was governor of Michigan to the present he has an encyclopedic knowledge of the political landscape that has affected America over that period of time. Romney is a stranger to the Republican narrative. Transitioning from an independent with democratic leanings twenty years ago to a full-fledged conservative in 2012 has many questioning his true stripes. Attacked by the liberal media for his acute business acumen, he distinguishes himself from his opponent by taking a middle of the road approach to tax policies. Unfortunately Romney echoes the “close the corporate loophole strategy” which is part of the democrat agenda to lay waste to the business community. When discussing foreign affairs he leaves the impression that his thoughts have not coalesced into a unitary position on this issue, few specifics with many generalizations. Obamacare comes to end, he claims, in the event the election goes his way. Yet many people have misgivings that he will forsake his promises of healthcare reform and leave much of Obamacare intact. This notion is based on the social program commonly called Romneycare that he left behind in the Bay State in 2006. The media has not vetted this health catastrophe in Massachusetts with sufficient detail to display it spawned Obamacare. Many tenets in Romneycare leave one wondering whether the liberal in Romney submerged his conservative side to bring about the chimera now plaguing his home state. During one Republican debate Romney deemphasized the value of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) stating there were more important issues on Earth to deal with. Yet when discussing how he would manage the military he answered that present World problems necessitate expansion of American Armed Forces. He never realized that NASA provides a strategic part of American defenses through various programs. His mentation concerning NASA coincides with the actions already taken by Obama to reduce the significance of this valuable asset. Romney’s stand on entitlements has not been clarified. During his tenure as Governor of the Bay State he markedly expanded entitlements allowing us a glimpse of the potential enactments he would bring to fruition if he attains the presidency. Many would question Romney’s conservative exterior, the evidence is clear that he does move to the right of President Obama. Does Romney engender Republican ideals, a clear case can be made that he doesn’t. Would this author vote for him? Yes, because of the detriment inflicted on America by Obama, Romney is America’s only choice. This November election is crucial because two competing ideologies are vying for your vote. Let us hope that we regain our constitutional democracy this election cycle, otherwise four years from now we could be speaking Arabic. Romneycare versus Obamacare: the real story

RomneyCare versus Obamacare: the real story

There is very good reason why the Romney has veered away from discussion of health policy when he was governor. Striking similarities embedded in these competing programs display they are close cousins and not distant relatives as we have been led to believe. During my preparation for the book Obamacare: Dead on Arrival facts were uncovered concerning Romneycare that have been deliberately overlooked by conservative media and will not be vetted by them before the election. Bureaucracy embedded in the Bay State’s vision of healthcare grows more extensive each year. Contrary to Romney Camp’s assertions that Romneycare  is not like Obamacare there are an extensive series of penalties and sanctions in the event you do not purchase health insurance for yourself or company as the case may be. In the first three years of Romneycare’s existence medical bankruptcies were not stemmed, they continued to rise. Health insurance premiums trended upwards not the reverse as intended. More perverse, individuals who maintained an income 300% above the federal poverty line were given assistance in purchasing insurance, meaning those with incomes of $90,000 received aid from the state. The under insured, those with minimal insurance coverage, expanded in the first three years of this program. Full coverage to those without plans has not been achieved, the very reason Romneycare was initiated. With cost overruns of hundreds of millions each year, a stressed out medical system that has yet to catch up with the requirements of this social experiment and a legislative initiative that forces people to purchase a product they don’t want Romney’s vision has not been the success stated by its enablers. Similar to Obamacare Massachusetts’ program has been a literal field day for lawyers. A deluge of legal challenges by individuals who refused to purchase health insurance required the elevation of a battalion of lawyers to administrative judges to try these cases, most were lost by the plaintiffs. Romney cannot run on Romneycare that is why he is running away from it. Obama will use his usual deprecating techniques to rough ride over his opponent. Romney must be ready to answer this challenge because it will surface during the debates. Voters on the edge could be thrown either way depending how Romney manages this subject. Mr. Romney expanded entitlements during his 4 year run as governor, yet he states he will rein in federal giveaways. Will Mr. Romney be another Trojan horse who sticks it to us or has he changed his menu of ideas, stay tuned. Mark Davis author of the forthcoming book, Obamacare: Dead on Arrival. platomd@gmail.com

Conservative Pundits are wrong about Romney

Conservative pundits are wrong about Romney

America is under assault from within and from afar. Our country has been surreptitiously maneuvered into becoming a second rate power. American headlines should read 2008 was the last year this country retained its super power status, it has been downhill ever since. President Obama has done everything short of giving away our nuclear secrets, which recent media notes is a future possibility. Election 2012 is fast approaching with a cadre of republican candidates yearning to be our next Chief Executive Officer. Mitt Romney is in the delegate lead at present, yet he remains an uncertain commodity amongst potential voters. Right wing media is awash with propaganda attempting to push Romney over the top. Fair and balanced looks more like unfair and biased from my perspective. Fox no longer discusses the candidates on an equal footing. They are now openly directing us to vote for their choice. Worse, they are commenting who should get out of Romney’s way so their ordained preference could be carried over the finish line. Romney has more than baggage that drags behind him. His dirty laundry has a stench all its own. Our conservative pundits have failed to take a hard look at Romneycare. In the event they had done their homework the media would have found that the Bay State’s tragedy is remarkably similar Obamacare. Romney’s interpretation of his own work is disingenuous at the minimum and would have been enough, under normal circumstances, to keep him off the election circuit. His entitlement proclivities bear a remarkable resemblance to those of the President. Global warning, he stands on the fence with this subject. As a former liberal democrat Romney could force all of us to ride the bus. Will he cut the bloated federal payroll? Review his management style of the Bay State. Expansion of bureaucracy was his specialty. Why does an honest man hide his money offshore? His answer, the blind trust controls his funds. Since this article will be read by thousands I do not want to offend anyone with the answer I have in mind about the latter. Romney’s polished robotic answers to nearly every question asked of him lacks the depth I would expect from someone seeking the Presidency. His approach, give the public anything they want to hear, no matter how fallacious the statement is. Romney is being pushed by the big thuds in the media. Ann Coulter exclaimed in a dialogue, “What is wrong with Romney,” who she apparently supports. Ms. Coulter: he is one more inept lawyer who will say or do anything to move up the food chain. Maybe you should go back and reread Demons of Democracy, which presents unequivocal evidence that lawyers are deficient in abilities to manage complex institutions, as exemplified by those who presently infect the Executive Branch. Conservative media has failed in their mission to look deeper at Mitt Romney than his press releases. Political hacks and washed up authors stream across your screen, on any night, asserting the virtues of Romney the candidate. They forget there are a few of us who still do our homework. Romney is the wrong candidate at the wrong time. Obama is already licking his fangs waiting for a debate with the presumed Republican nominee. What color do Republicans bleed? Romney: A political Trojan horse

Romney: A political Trojan horse

By a tragic margin of 8 votes Romney has been deified as the primary candidate to beat. Iowa may pick winners and losers but Romney is far from being the bellwether of the group. Rick Santorum’s efforts paid off in a huge fashion for the candidate who was initially going nowhere. Many people with a conservative bent have voiced feelings of trepidation and uncertainty for Romney. Their reasons evolve from a sense that his true center sits more in the liberal camp than what he portrays publically. Through many gaffes, the former governor of the Bay State has shown a side of himself that he rather people did not remember. As the great business man he proclaims to be, thousands of jobs were lost under his tutelage. Romneycare has repeatedly been misrepresented by him as something the population of Massachusetts demanded. Those who live under that state’s liberal banner unequivocally note they were coerced into that form of socialistic health delivery. Romney’s darker side was on display as he ran attack ads on opposing candidates. Even more profound, his squads of political vigilantes have been out scouring the garbage cans of the other pretends to the throne. The results of their efforts will soon be on display in the media. Romney’s polished persona should give anyone with a credible mind a reason to pause to look below that toned epidermis. His rehearsed demeanor shouts volumes that the depth of thought that is so vital to managing this country may be absent. America without any doubt needs a new leader. Obama’s management style is driving America towards the dead zone. In the event he continues in office, the fiscal bankruptcy of this nation is a real possibility. The question those of us on the conservative side must answer: Is Romney the right or wrong candidate to place on the republican dais at the coming convention. In my opinion there are too many ifs and buts associated with his 64 years of life to warrant such an honor. Mark Davis, M.D.  President of Healthnets Review Services, platomd@gmail.com

Republcians' newest mistake

Republicans’ newest mistake

Romney has been ordained by the Republican hierarchy as the candidate to beat. This transition occurred during the last two weeks and unseen forces are pushing the other contenders aside. Fox news is carefully crafting pieces to lessen the worth of the competition in an attempt to polish Romney’s visage. Gingrich, a former Fox political consultant, now has an image problem that did not exist a fortnight ago. Ron Paul has been dehumanized and marginalized as the candidate from the theater of the bizarre. Rick Perry has been played as an awkward simpleton who has yet to learn how to tie his shoes. The rest of the pretenders to the throne have not made it half way. Romney’s tangential experience with politics as governor of the Bay State resulted in his tragic health care legislation code named Romneycare. It is strangely similar to the Obama product that is now infesting a state near you. His stance on other issues has given many republicans a reason to pause. Could we be exchanging one problem for another when November 2012 arrives? Romney is presently maneuvering through the political landscape greased with tens of millions from his own pocket. Added to the large sums now pouring in because he had has been deified as the candidate to look towards, the remaining crew might as well give up. Lawyers appear to have problems managing intricate systems. Perhaps this is the reason Romney left when his health disaster was taking shape. Pessimism is working its way into some quarters of the conservative movement because Romney is not that picture perfect candidate they had in mind. If there is someone in the darkness better than the current crowd of presidential wannabes, now is the time to materialize.  Those who profess an interest in the throne from the sidelines would rather critique the present crew than jump in. There is a real possibility that those who were fooled before may make the same mistake again. Study your candidate thoroughly before you throw the lever because this could be the last time you are permitted to vote. Mark Davis MD, author of Demons of Democracy, platomd@gmail.com

Republicans lose in 2012

Republicans lose in 2012

Republican hierarchy is pushing the wrong candidate against Obama that guarantees a democrat win in 2012. There exists a plethora of suspicions about Romney that the conservative media cannot quell with spin or other devices at their disposal. When Newt Gingrich surged passed the other candidates, the Republican machinery went into full force to denigrate him from every angle possible. From nuanced media rip to outright lies they have spared no expense to bring him down. Resilient, flexible and intellectually sound Speaker Gingrich has much more to offer the American public than a former governor who abandoned ship when he was most needed. Romney moved out of the house when his massive health legislation came on board. His representations of Romneycare are factually inaccurate when he discusses its virtues and vices. His mind is hampered by a legal education that diminishes his perspective on the current conditions in the country. Newt Gingrich perseveres through the quagmire placed before him because he is a seasoned politician that sees the bigger picture. His breadth and depth of knowledge of history and politics markedly transcends his opponents when he is put to the task of debating them. Behind the scenes manipulations have occurred on a grand scale in the media to push their favored candidate. Rush Limbaugh is now singing the praises of Romney. Fox network has gone out its way to move Gingrich outside the center of attention and move Romney in. A cavalcade of conservative voices is attempting to ordain Romney as the nominee. Many of us in the conservative movement have our reservations about this man, whose personal baggage surmounts that of the former Speaker. For some intangible reason those who hold a legal degree have an inability to understand the intricacies of government functions and how to use them most efficiently. Romney will fall short in any debate with the present Commander-in-chief, Gingrich will unravel the true Obama when they go head to head. Romney is the wrong candidate at the wrong time who will lead the Republican Party to defeat in 2012. Listen to your own conscience not the of the overpaid media hogs who wail in unison when they are given the word. Romney: wrong politician wrong time

Romney: wrong politician wrong time

Rehearsed, polished and visually respectable, Romney is the cookbook politician that is similar to our present reigning monarch. America’s Chief Executive needs to be erudite, insightful and experienced in the ways and mannerisms of a political insider, yet completely open to change when it is required. Romney craftily answers questions with statements that skillfully avoid their intent. Over the course of more than a dozen debates, an evolution has taken place in his cognition, whose nuances have grown into mega changes in his mentation. Obamacare was initially waived away in a Romney presidency, yet the lawyer in him knew that solution was a ruse. Romney’s statements are never impromptu, instead a litany of rehearsed mini speeches emanate from him that attempt to cloister his true stance on the topic presented. Romney moves through his day defending himself including; his prior business record, the large profits he made at the expense of the work force under his command, Romneycare, his global warming stance and sundry other issues important to the voting populous. His campaign has not caught fire with many in the Republican Party because there is a perceived element of distrust about him from his prior private/public record. The Republican hierarchy is doing its best to denigrate the other candidates, in order to make Mitt the top dog. Unfortunately, Mitt’s bark may have taken a bite out of his personal believability. Right wing media is falling in line attempting to cast the other presidential contenders in less than amenable terms. Romney is a mistake that has already been made in the visage of Obama. America needs a consistent experienced person to be president, not someone whose timidity will inhibit him from taking the fight to those who dishonor America with every word they utter. Rush Limbaugh and his conservative comrades are pushing the wrong button this time. When you vote push the right button because the person you help to elect will control the red one.
