Nightmares never leave us. Attached to our psyches they wait for the signal to remerge. As a child coming of age in the 1960s the fear of nuclear annihilation was ever present in the media. This fear was represented by nuclear mushroom clouds expanding across placid skies. Reality clashed with this hypothetical when Russian missile placements were observed on the island of Cuba. President Kennedy, fearing the worst, took immediate action to diffuse this communist nation’s encroachment into the Western Hemisphere. Without this strong President’s leadership the beginnings of World War Three would have been a few steps away. Fifty years later this country is once again battling for its future.

 

Scattered across the Iranian landscape are dozens of facilities established for one end purpose, enrichment of Uranium for bombs. http://www.jpost.com/International/Die-Welt-Iran-building-rocket-bases-in-Venezuela Utilizing nearly 20,000 centrifuges Iranian workers are closing in on their ultimate goal. America, not fully cognizant of Iran’s weapons status, is blindly negotiating a treaty to curtail a program that may have already come to fruition. John Kerry, the present Secretary of State, back stabbed his fellow Vietnam Vets during his formative years by testifying against them before Congress. Trust is not one of Kerry’s strong points. Forty years later he is the lead negotiator for a treaty with Iran. With a lack of transparency Kerry and Obama have released little on the framework of this proposed treaty. Speculation is Obama desperately wants this treaty no matter who he throws under the literal bus. In the event this is a legacy moment for the Commander-in-Chief he has failed. Instead Obama is writing an epitaph for the America he hates and the Israel he loathes.

 

Reports of Iranian missile placements in Venezuela have been carried by foreign news sources. http://www.jpost.com/International/Die-Welt-Iran-building-rocket-bases-in-Venezuela American media has been quiescent on this subject. Once operational these missiles could reach continental United States in a matter of minutes. With Iran’s rapid development of fissionable material these missiles could be tipped with warheads which can decimate American cities on a whim. Essentially the Cuban Missile crisis has come to the 21^st century. Obama, oblivious to the Constitution, does not have the courage to invoke the Monroe Doctrine. Striking are the differences in leadership between John Kennedy and Barack Obama. Kennedy led us away from a nuclear holocaust. Obama is leading us towards one. Perhaps that was the plan from day one. When Obama took the oath of office in 2009 he swore to uphold the Constitution and defend America. From this small perch Obama’s real motives were to dismantle American institutions, traditions and its industrial base. He is on his way to succeeding with these goals. My recommendation is build a Civil Defense shelter because Iran and others are coming our way.

The day Israel stood still

 

On March 17^th a country two thirds the size of Maryland chose to stay with its current leader Benjamin Netanyahu. With the votes finally tallied Netanyahu and his Likud party overwhelming beat back Isaac Herzog and the Zionist Union. Ironically America’s left of the left press had Herzog winning by a considerable margin. American media misrepresented the will of Israel’s majority with stories fabricated to negate Netanyahu’s popularity at home. Some media outlets chose to distort exit polls perhaps in an attempt to discourage late voters as it does in this country. In the aftermath the Jewish State solidified behind a leader whose message is consistent: Israel must and will survive regardless of external forces attempting to undermine the nation.

 

Reports have circulated that American tax dollars were spent by the Obama Administration to subvert the Israeli election. These news reports indicated  people close to Obama established themselves in some manner or form in Israel with a singular purpose to bring Netanyahu down. Their failure brought a certain level of consternation to a White House already in disarray over Netanyahu’s recent presentation before Congress. Not to be out maneuvered by the Prime Minister our narcissus-in-chief waited 24 hours then revealed his newest plan to bring Israel to its knees. Obama’s hate for the Jewish State has no bounds. Under consideration are potential plans to weaken America’s close relationship with Israel which has lasted seven decades. In the end nothing will change except the man in the White House.

 

America’s foreign policy has been chaotic since Obama took office.

Present negotiations with Iran, to slow their nuclear weapons development, will only forestall for a brief period an outcome inevitable under current treaty discussions. Netanyahu brought this message to Congress. Yet President Obama chided the Prime Minister’s speech deriding its contents as unhelpful to current exchanges with Iranian leadership. In reality Obama stopped listening to the very people who have insight into the Iranian terrorist regime.

 

President Obama’s difficulty grasping who the aggressors are and who are America’s friends is obvious. Worse he believes loosening sanctions against Iran to placate them will expedite an arms treaty. The road President Obama and Secretary Kerry are pursuing is disastrous for this country and Israel. Further it may set the seeds for war because Iran cannot be trusted to follow the tenets of any negotiated treaty. Instead any solution generated by politicians will guarantee a nuclear Iran.

 

President Obama is considering a beach front property in Hawaii for his post White House days. In this compound he will be safe from any attack by Iran on mainland USA. He will be able to sit back and watch the mushroom clouds form. As Barack looks to the left at Michelle he will note that Netanyahu was right. Iran cannot be trusted.

The Shadow Presidency

 

Presidents are elected to lead not hide in the shadows only to appear when the World is on the brink. Tensions amongst the nations are bordering on reintroduction of the Cold War, which came to a quiet end during the Reagan years. In recent days two events have occurred which could ignite into regional conflicts if their flames are not contained. Israel launched an aggressive raid on the Gaza Strip in response to persistent missile attacks from this location. Hamas’ aggression has been relentless placing Israeli cities under a dome of hysteria without reprieve. International outrage, as usual, is being levied against the Jewish State though they did not initiate the aggression. President Obama briefly displayed his concern by publically denouncing the high level of causalities in Palestinian territories, yet paying lip service to Israel’s right of self-defense. Displaying minimal leadership in this unfolding catastrophe his press release stated categorically that Israel should return to the 2012 peace plan. Mr. President, Israel was following this purported plan, Hamas wasn’t. As the elected head of our nation the President showed the World for the nth time he is a feckless leader detached from reality.

 

On a secondary front the downing of a passenger jet over the Ukraine killing 298 people shocked the conscience of many nations, except for one headed by a shadow. In the most shallow terms President Obama promised retribution to those who perpetrated this tragedy, unfortunately leaving out the means to achieve this end. Surprisingly Samantha Power, our United Nations Ambassador, had the effervescence to do what her boss would not take the game to the Russians. In biting tones her words accused pro-Russian forces of this atrocity and laid out potential sanctions the United States could bring to bear. Leading from behind has been the present Administration’s method of managing World crises. With maximum rhetoric and minimal substance Obama’s speeches have conveyed little to resolve the newest wars amongst nations.

 

Perhaps ghost President would be a better appellation for Obama. Allowing secondary officials to perform primary Executive functions is not a power delegated in the Constitution. House committees are still requesting where the President was during the night of the Benghazi raid. In the IRS scandal the President’s minions claim Obama was first notified of the problem through media sources. We now know the veracity of that notation is untrue. Four year election cycles are done for a reason, to bring competence and confidence to the nation’s highest office. During the last 2 cycles the electorate received much less than they expected.  Harsh times are ahead in the event leadership does not emerged from the corridors of power in the Capital. One thing for certain the paralysis in the White House will not be cured until the end of the present four year cycle.

Obama to Jews everywhere: drop dead

 

Annihilate Jews everywhere is the message from a subpopulation of anti-Semites scattered across the Middle East. Media reports emanating from France today report a bomb ignited in a kosher supermarket, four people were injured. Jews have been targeted all over the World to be killed. Israel harbors nearly half the World’s Jewish population, which is estimated at fifteen million people, who have been exposed to this type of toxic threat since its inception in 1948. Jews are not safe in their homeland or anywhere else because of an intense hatred fostered against them by Arab extremists. Rocket attacks on Jewish cities and settlements in Israel are a regular occurrence.  Violent attacks have been extended to every nation with a Jewish enclave. America has not been spared from the brutality inflicted on Jews elsewhere. In nearly every attack an Arabic organization or someone of Arabic extraction has claimed responsibility. Iran’s President Ahmadinejad’s blatant threats to wipe Israel off the map have been taken seriously by some but not President Obama. Billions to the Muslim Brotherhood are the offerings from a nation on the verge of bankruptcy, scrapes for Israel is Obama’s message to this small but intrinsically strong nation. With America taking a distance position concerning Israel’s defense and Obama’s curry favoring with violent Arab groups Jews around the World are in a very precarious position. Middle Eastern terrorists and regimes that support them are gearing up for war as I write these words. Their focus is Israel with Iran leading the charge. As a Jew I was not surprised that Obama believes the threat from Iran is mythical in nature and therefore pays lip service to requests from Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu for a direct meeting. Apparently scheduling with Letterman and his celebrity friends takes precedent. Netanyahu wants Obama to be more actively engaged with the Iranian nuclear crisis emerging from the bowels of a country that openly promotes terrorism. So far Obama has turned his head away from the only democracy in the Middle East. In the event the Israeli population relocated to Alaska, the Muslim threat would follow them there. Profound hatreds, that are very hard to define, do not evaporate because people relocate. Osama bin Laden believed there were Jews in the World Trade Center Towers is one of the reasons given for horrific attack on 9/11. Jews all over this planet are at risk no matter where they live or travel from an unrelenting evil embedded in a small group of Arabic extremists. Living in Maryland for three decades I have felt the wrath of anti-Semitism from government entities, medical community and public at-large. Anti-Semitism is real and palpable when it occurs. Anti-Semitic acts are reportedly on the rise throughout this country and in other nations. The shoppers in the French kosher market went into a store to buy necessities but were carried out nearly dead because of a movement that has no bounds. Presently we have a president who enables the haters with very little conscience concerning his actions or inactions respectively. Movie critics are killing Americans in the Middle East. Susan Rice, America’s Ambassador to the United Nations, echoed this theme in a Fox interview this weekend. A chorus of other high ranking Obama minions sang the same song in other media venues in the last few days. One major problem few if any of the protestors have seen the purported movie fueling their anger and even fewer cared about its contents. Twenty one countries have come under attack in what appears to be a well-organized series of events utilizing rent-a-mobs to wreck -havoc on American installations. Protestors, armed with the latest fire power, timed their assaults to occur around the 9/11 anniversary. These attacks were neither spontaneous nor caused by a movie that no one has seen. With a consistency that has become signature for Obama, he blamed anyone and everyone except his own actions for the fires still raging in these third rate societies. Information has emerged from various sources that America’s national security infrastructure was warned of potential assaults on overseas facilities weeks before they happened. Perhaps the president should show up for an occasional security briefing, knowing Obama golf and Letterman come first. War is coming to the Middle East. This time it will not be a minor skirmish but a major event. Potentially millions will die to prove one ideology is superior to another. Religious zealots want Israel to disappear from the face of the Earth. Harsh rhetoric from Iran’s president and the council that backs him expound on this theme daily. Obama and his administration display a callous disregard for the potential threat facing the only democracy in this region by ignoring pleas from Israel’s leaders to take a stand against a country bent on producing nuclear weapons. Months not years away are the timelines for Iran’s nuclear capabilities to become reality. Obama believes otherwise by dismissing Israel’s claim of a pending assault by this rogue nation. America will be dragged into the next war. My question is whose side will Obama defend? From this author’s perspective there is an excellent chance Israel, for the first time in its history, will not have America at its back. Iran plays by its own rules

Tyranny has no walls, floors or boundaries. It is a process that engulfs the weak and strong alike. The world has known it from the beginning of human civilization and its ugly face has not been purged from society even in the 21^st century. Recent events in the Middle East should have given men of conscience pause to reevaluate their approach to this simmering cauldron. Standard economic sanctions against tyrants and theocratic demagogues delays the inevitable as people die by their hands. Crazed individuals fraught with hate for other cultures will not play the game by civilized rules and neither should we. A nuclear exchange would kill hundreds of millions immediately with tens of millions more dying within weeks of the catastrophe. It appears that Iran wants a nuclear device and a means to deliver it. Daily, they tease the world about their progress and intentions. Perhaps demonic forces are not in play influencing the worst of humanity but it seems that way. Obama’s reticence to act against the Iranian regime is a continual reminder of how timid and undeserving he is of the title Commander-in-Chief. His pathetic inability to make hard decisions will be noted by historians in the coming years. Presently, playing diplomatic games will not stop the approaching war. The Iranian regime, not its general population, must be taken to task concerning their obvious intent to develop a nuclear weapon and use it on population centers that do not fit in with their convoluted religious doctrines. Their nuclear facilities need to be accurately identified, located and destroyed, there is no other recourse. Its regime needs to be dismantled quickly and thoroughly. Many nations, not only Israel, are at risk from Iran’s evolving weaponry. Hints that contingency plans are in place to resolve Iran’s defiance against world demands are comforting, yet more needs to be done.
