Miranda Rights: for terrorists before Americans

 

Recent revelations that many facets of our communications are being monitored by government entities, is a chilling reminder of how far America has moved away from the Constitution. Edward Snowden, a former employee of Booz Allen Hamiliton, a defense contractor to the National Security Agency, was revealed as the source of the recent intelligence leaks. Now in hiding overseas, Snowden revealed yet another scandal surrounding the Obama White House. President Obama quickly responded to media criticisms of this obvious overreach by his Administration. He stated that a country to be safe from terrorism must give up some of its freedoms to achieve that goal. Democrats, in a harmonious chorus, noted the spying programs now in place were initiated under President Bush. The two glaring facts Democrats left unstated were: most of them voted for the Patriot Act which empowers these programs and the legislation only permits intercept of foreign communications not those of Americans within our borders. Much more insidious than trolling through our lives via social networks, the postal system and other forms of electronic eavesdropping is: how will the information be utilized?

 

Information that is brought to light which does not imply a terrorist threat, yet is incriminating under other circumstances could be violating a person’s Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. Worse, in the event information is given to law enforcement officials, from these forays into our privacy, could the government be trampling on our Miranda Rights? Though Miranda addresses the spoken word in regards to self-incrimination, the written word is only an extension of its voiced counterpart, as recognized by law. Government’s intrusion into our private communications precludes a warning that information gathered might be used against us at some future date. Obama’s security teams skipped over the part in the law that advises Americans they should be notified of their Miranda Rights before these clear intrusions into our privacy occur. Sixteen hours after the Boston Marathon Bombing, Eric Holder’s team and a federal judge ran to the bedside of the bomber, Dzhokhar Tsamaev, to advise him of his Miranda rights. Why Eric Holder moved so quickly to quiet this murderer remains a mystery. Yet, in the minds of Obama Administration officials, terrorists have more rights than their victims. Edward Snowden’s controversial revelations only affirmed what most of us suspected, that Uncle Obama has moved into our backyards. Whether you consider Snowden a patriot, hero or traitor one thing for certain: he did us all a favor. Harsh reality confronted a nation not ready to hear that a 10 year old, dying from Cystic Fibrosis, is having difficulty obtaining a lung transplantation. Sarah Murnaghan is in the end stages of of this horrific disease with compromised lungs and other organs affected. Sarah’s physicians note without an immediate pulmonary transplantation, she has only weeks to live. Cystic Fibrosis is a very complicated disease, of genetic origin, which could affect the entire body. Thick secretions obstruct airway channels resulting in poor respiratory function, which is the problem in this case. Sarah’s parents desperately want their daughter placed on the adult transplantation list. Unfortunately, the cut-off age is 12. More lungs are available to adults than children, therefore Sarah’s parents went public with their quest. Fox News, in its inimical style, damned the government for its insensitivity to this child and its position concerning Sarah’s parents attempts to have her placed on the adult list. More to the point, Fox blamed the Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, as did others, for not signing an order to have Sarah placed on the adult list. Sean Hannity went so far as stating this is reminiscent of death panels. Sebelius was willing to study the issue, yet she noted some will live and some will die. She was referring to the scarcity of transplantable organs available and the overabundance of potential recipients waiting for them. As insensitive as her message came across, she was correct. Three children in Sarah’s region of Pennsylvania are waiting transplantation as well as several dozen adults. Blaming Sebelius is absurd and adds to the political circus around this case. Does the name Terri Schiavo come to mind and the government’s overreach in that case. Fox conveniently forgot to mention that Sarah’s disease involves many other systems in her body. Any of which could potentially terminate her life. Media and political hack’s amnesia to other people awaiting transplants was also very obvious. The government is neither the cause of the patient’s condition nor controls its outcome. Bad genes and a lack of transplantable organs are the culprits.  Many of us have children and feel the pain these parents are suffering. This is not the case to take a stand against Obamacare. Organ allocation is difficult and emotionally trying. Decisions made daily determine who lives and who dies. Unfortunately, it can be any one of us at the end to the stick. Sarah was given temporary reprieve this week by a court, which allowed her to be listed as an adult. As a physician and a father, I hope Sarah receives her lung transplant and lives a long life, epidemiological statistics of Cystic Fibrosis unfortunately state otherwise. Government in Transition: a new LinkedIn Political discussion group

 

Government in Transition is a discussion group on the LinkedIn website which has been established to discuss current political trends and the societal changes now occurring throughout the country. Recent revelations that Facebook is actively suppressing selective political commentary, especially conservative opinions, has caused many to seek other avenues to vent their thoughts. Facebook’s outright censorship is a consequence of its liberal leaning management. Twitter has also closed pages when they felt the information contained on them was not compatible with their own stated agenda. LinkedIn, as of this writing, has not displayed such an abuse of process. On the contrary, they invite commentary from an array of perspectives. Government in Transition seeks to bring together a variety of political and social commentary. Visitors to this discussion group will opine knowing their comments will not be censored in any manner or form. Cultural changes, inflicted on us by state and federal governing bodies, were ill-considered and there full ramifications have yet to come to fruition. From the social experiments in the military to the extreme redistribution of tax dollars, the mainstream media has treaded lightly on these subjects. With political entities working handed in hand with the left-wing media, discussion of these and other important issues do not receive the attention they deserve. Government in Transition is discussion group that allows people from all social, cultural and economic strata to come together and literally bang-heads on these topics. Depravity will be the signature achievement of the Obama Administration, once its history is finally written. Obama’s clarion call to teenagers that fornication is acceptable, even if children are under 15 years of age, should have been a wake-up call to every parent in America. Worse, he gave these children a way out if a pregnancy occurs, over-the-counter birth control. When the latter means fails, no problem, abortion on demand will be available on request. Parental consent, not any more, Obama’s programs allow the government to intercede in many cases.  Obama’s devilish work does not stop with childhood fornication, his push to have the gay agenda fully accepted by society continues unabated. From the military and marriage to school curriculums and now the Boy Scouts homosexuality is being forced on a population that would rather see this disgusting behavior back in the closet. Military has seen an exponential jump in the number cases of sexual harassment in the last few years, after Obama gave his blessing to an openly gay armed forces. He forgot to ask the soldiers how they feel about sleeping, bathing and living in close quarters with openly gay individuals. Obama’s intent to enable the “gay establishment” to make homosexual marriage as acceptable as the traditional version displays his profound level of deviance from the normal course of human thinking. School systems are slowly implementing curriculums that explore the gay lifestyle, backed by funds from Uncle Obama. This filth is not limited to the upper grades, impressionable minds in lower schools are being introduced to the “new norm” as well. With a complaisant Department of Justice at his backside Obama and the gay gang’s next stop was the Boy Scouts of America. Much consideration went into the Scouts recent decision to allow openly gay children into their ranks, most of it from fear of lawsuits. Yet, the gay crowd is not fully happy with this decision. They aspire to have gay Scout leaders leading these packs of children. Time will soon come when the Boy Scouts of America disbands, because the majority of normal parents do not want their children exposed to such trash. Obama’s attack on the fundamentals of religion and traditional society comes on the heels of a push to move atheism into the forefront of religious thought. In this case, Obama’s moves imbue our culture with a sense of worthlessness. His policies and programs turn the population away from the elements it needs most, a belief in a higher power and the organizational structure implemented by that power. Moral decay and social stagnation were two reasons why Rome fell, America appears to be heading in the same direction. Obama’s deviances need to be checked or America will become Sodom and Gomorrah on steroids. Acquisition of legal services is as close as your yellow pages. Thousands of advertisements by suited individuals claiming expertise in a wide variety of subjects are audaciously portrayed as saviors in this resource. Yet their portrayals as self-redeemers contain an underlying deception that jumps off the page when you review the gamut of expertise presented. The enumeration of qualifications is long and very untrustworthy even to the superficial observer. Demons of Democracy exposes that most of these ads are pure fiction and those behind them have minimal abilities to perform the tasks presented. More than a million lawyers roam the range of America’s legal landscape starving for the next case. Law schools, except for a few, do not prepare the student for the realities of 21^st century America. Would you trust your life savings to someone with a 3 credit course in estate planning or allow someone with a 2 credit course in tax preparation to manage your portfolio of stocks? The answer to both of these questions would be no if you knew better. Unfortunately lawyers mislead people to believe they have a level of erudition which is not borne out by their education, training or experience. Most are burnt out social science majors who had no idea where to plant their feet after college. Law school or driving a cab was the logical alternatives for these individuals. Demons of Democracy discusses the profound ignorance of many who wear the badge as a member of a once esteemed profession. Obama’s dilemma: continue the charade or come clean

 

Three scandals, concurrently, are plaguing the Obama Administration: the Benghazi massacre, Internal Revenue Service’s abuse of power and News-gate.

As usual the President has cleverly distanced himself from these horrific abuses by sending subordinates to take the heat from the media and Congressional committees. Benghazi massacre no longer appears to be a sequence of incompetent actions caused by various segments of our government. Evidence emerging from various sources displays that a profound cover up, directed by the White House, is enforce. Deaths of four Americans, which include an Ambassador chosen by the President, still remain a mystery more than 8 months after the tragic incident. Twelve separate explanations, lacking any substantiation, have been expressed by various members of the Administration and the President himself. When the story of an anti-Muslim video didn’t capture the public’s attention, a dozen other variants were introduced in an attempt to explain away this massacre. From the perch of many Obama put the safety of Muslim extremists before those of four Americans. Someone ordered the military not to respond to an ongoing assault in Benghazi, and that person may be in residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. As the Benghazi tragedy continued to swirl through Congressional corridors, abuse of Internal Revenue resources came to light, in the last few weeks. Groups that lean to the right were targeted for audits or even denials of tax exemptions in a frequency well beyond statistical averages, as noted in an Inspector General’s report. Coincidently, the abuse started in March of 2010 when Obamacare was signed into law. An uptick of IRS harassment of these same groups and individuals occurred as the 2012 election approached. Officials, at this egregious tax service, have denied for over a year these occurrences were taking place, when recent evidence surfaced displaying otherwise. In civil tones, IRS officials lied to Congress and the American people. Many believe the intimidation of the right was purposely initiated to keep Barack Obama in power. These revelations came to light 7 months after the 2012 election, when the facts were known 6 months before Obama won a second term. Obama’s henchmen and women had one goal, manipulate the outcome of a presidential election. There is no other explanation, with the facts presently available. Even more insidious than a manipulated election, is an attempt by the White House and Department of Justice to suppress the free flow of information in the media. Unbeknownst to Fox News, the Associated Press and others news organizations of note was the Department of Justice’s quiet acquisition of reporters’ emails, contacts, phone numbers and other information that could be harmful to President Obama’s reelection bid. With various excuses the DOJ quoted national security or some other hypothetical to obtain this information. Reality speaks in other tones, meaning this was another form of intimidation by an out of control Administration that feels empowered to step on the Constitution. Similar to the other scandals and tragedies Obama and his minions have sudden amnesia when approached to explain any aspect of this Administrations overreach. The time has arrived for the President to drop the charades and come clean concerning these three scandals and others from his prior term. White House machinery to cover the President’s tracks is being peeled away daily. Soon, Congressional investigators will find the path that leads to the back door of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. When this occurs, it will be too late for Obama to be contrite before a Nation that made a mistake in 2008 and again in 2012.
